Senior Practice Executive – Managed Markets – San Francisco / Chicago
Sell and deliver Managed Markets Strategy services to pharmaceutical and biotech clients
We are currently seeking experienced Senior Practice Executives to join our clients Managed Markets Consulting Practice. The successful candidates will work with the firm’s pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients in selling, developing, and implementing managed markets strategies, along with managing project teams and client relationships. We are responsible for assisting on these opportunities in Boston, MA, San Francisco, CA and Chicago, IL.
Our client is a leading management consulting firm specializing in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. Their areas of expertise include Clinical Development, Brand Management, Business Development, Managed Markets, and Sales Force Effectiveness. This specific industry focus and subject matter expertise allows them to have an immediate impact on complex projects, delivering value that less specialized firms cannot match.
The Managed Markets practice is dedicated to:
- Supporting clients in developing and executing managed markets launch strategies for new products
- Consulting clients in refining the managed markets strategy for in-line products
- Developing corporate- and product-level segment-specific strategies for one or more of the managed markets segments
- Assisting clients in increasing their effectiveness in tactical execution (e.g., managed care pull-through)
The ideal candidates will have experience working in one or more of the following:
- Marketing and/or sales capacity within the managed markets function of a pharmaceutical company
- Clinical responsibility (pharmacy or medical) in a managed care organization
- A management consulting firm
- Strong knowledge of managed markets and the pharmaceutical industry is essential, while Medicare-related experience is a plus. Experience in selling and managing large projects in management consulting is required. Candidates with an MBA from a top 20 program, PharmD, or MPH are strongly preferred
Compensation – $150,000 – 200,000 Base / OTE $170,000 – 250,000

Bluespeed, Inc is looking for a Account Supervisor for one of our clients. They need a person near San Mateo to help our client’s managed markets focused organization.
What you will do:
You will serve as the day-to-day representative of our client agency with respect to managed markets communication development and servicing of one or more accounts assigned.
What We Would Like You to Have Done:
- This Position requires strong project management skills to manage multiple projects priorities and deadlines and requires attention to detail.
- You should have previous agency experience with demonstrated success.
- We also are looking for someone with experience in pharmaceutical reimbursement and Managed Markets is helpful.
- Previous pharmaceutical/biotech product management, sales or marketing communications experience is helpful.
- Bachelors degree is required.
- There is some travel, not a lot, but enough to keep things interesting (20-25%)
What you will Be Responsible For:
- Taking care of the Customer!
- Ensuring that the services required by the accounts s/he supervises are properly performed. Responsible for the internal administration of accounts – making certain that the Account Executive and/or Assistants perform effectively in the mechanics of their assignments:
- Preparing informative and accurate conference reports and/or other memoranda, communicating in detail their progress with clients, and that such communications are distributed promptly to all client and agency personnel concerned.
- Seeing that orders and work instructions to Traffic, Creative, Media, etc. are sufficiently detailed and clear.
- Maintaining a current and intensive knowledge of the client’s business in order to direct and contribute to their marketing and advertising plans. Uses such knowledge to anticipate the need for strategic changes
- Guiding, advising, and assisting the Account Executives in developing and presenting new proposals to their accounts and in carrying out the proposals agreed upon by clients
Obtaining management supervisor’s approval of same before submission to client. Acts as ’strategizer’ with the creative staff with the agreement of Management
